With all the noise around Omega’s sports watches, it’s easy to forget that divers and chronographs aren’t what made the brand famous. As a matter of fact, the universally-celebrated Seamaster started life as a decidedly dressier timepiece, and so did its more luxurious variation – the Seamaster De Ville. Due to the transformation of the Seamaster, however, Omega decided to assign the De Ville name to a more sophisticated and elegant collection of timepieces, so the De Ville Prestige line came to embody all the qualities that the Seamaster no longer could.
The De Ville Prestige Co-Axial Chronometer 424.10.40.20.02.003 features a stunning opaline-silvery dial with polished domed Roman numerals and indexes. The sword-shaped hands are quite reminiscent of those on vintage Seamaster models, as is the stainless steel case with its simple lines and sleek silhouette. The date display is positioned at 3 o’clock and is, coincidently, the only interruption in the overall symmetry of the design.
The De Ville Prestige Chronometer is powered by the Omega in-house caliber 2500 Co-Axial.
