Omega Constellation Day-Date Wrapped Gold ref. CD 168.029 – 1970, Mint condition, Serviced

The Constellation made its debut in 1952 and, thankfully, continues to be an integral part of Omega’s line-up to this day. When it first entered the scene way back when, it was immediately recognized as one of, if not the most technically-advanced dress watch of the decade, introducing one of the most visionary designs of its era (courtesy of Gerald Genta) as well as one of the most masterfully-engineered movements.

As our photos will proudly testify, the example on offer here is a genuine Unicorn. All these years later, its case remains knife-edge sharp and without a scratch – as does its bracelet – and its dial shows no sign of pitting or patina of any kind. How is that possible, you may ask? Well, because it has never touched a human wrist before. Not only that, but it also comes in its original box in similarly immaculate condition – now that’s what we call a find!
This model features a gold-wrapped case and a gold-tone linen dial, which serves as the backdrop for a set of sword hands and stick indices and a 3 o’clock day-and-date display. Gold-wrapped, in case you’re wondering, means that the case is covered by a thick layer of gold far too substantial to qualify as plating. Its underside, meanwhile, is adorned with the unmistakable gold Constellation medallion, underneath which the robust, chronometer-grade caliber 751 ticks melodiously away.
The latter was just serviced by our in-house watchmaker and is keeping good time. Dates to 1970.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
