The world of watchmaking has become vastly more interesting due to the freedom that comes with globalization and the advancement of capitalism. Nowadays, it’s much easier to establish and maintain a business as well as to produce and market a product, so what watch enthusiasts refer to as Microbrands are popping up left and right. While the bigger, better-known brands like Omega or Rolex are built on tradition and heritage, the independent watchmakers of today have none of those. What they do have, however, is an abundance of enthusiasm, a knack for innovation and – fortunately – no interest in upholding convention. The watch on offer here hails from one such brand – Nubeo. Its founder, Ivan Castro, is first and foremost a jeweler, and second – a watchmaker. This sentiment is deeply imbedded in the Arctic Snowmobile Adventure, resulting in an organic blend of unique aesthetics and excellent craftsmanship. The case has a jellyfish-like silhouette and is built from machined stainless steel. The dial and its elements are well-finished and have a style of their own. Despite its natural look, it has a certain sporty, almost tactical air to it. The panda dial is reminiscent of a racing chronograph and further reinforces the pieces utilitarian flavor. The nicely decorated Valjoux 7750 is anything but utilitarian, however – it’s a well-finished piece of horology. It was just services and is running confidently. The condition of our offering is superb, with only a few hairpins to found. Comes on the original high-quality white leather strap with branded buckle in the original Nubeo box in fair condition.
