IWC Ingenieur 44 ref. IW323401 – Ceramic bezel, Full set, New OEM Strap, Polished

Florentine Ariosto Jones was a man of great vision and a truly adventurous and bold spirit. He founded IWC in 1858, in the town of Schaffhausen, with the idea of producing movements that would be exported to the United States, where a partner company would encase them and market them. This approach proved economically inviable, however, so it wasn’t too long before Jones started to see his dreams crumble. Nevertheless, he pushed on and ensured that IWC would survive by transforming it from the ground up. Today, the company is one of the most highly praised watch manufacturers out there, thanks in no small part to the values that Jones instilled: fine engineering, foresight and innovation, and an excellent production system.
The watch on offer here stands as definitive proof that IWC has stayed true to the legacy of its founder. The Ingenieur draws inspiration directly from IWC’s passion for mechanical engineering. The model’s first iteration was introduced in the 1950s – a time when engineers were considered the heroes of the coming age – and boasted a shock-resistant movement, a robust stainless steel case, and an impressive anti-magnetic rating. The Ingenieur ref. IW323401, however, dates back to 2011 and therefore makes use of new high-tech materials and embraces a more contemporary design language. Its modernist case is covered in fine hairlines, which make it look just as rugged as it is stylish. The scratch-resistant ceramic bezel that surrounds the dial further enhances the watch’s sporty aesthetic and complements its dark aura. Underneath the AR-coated sapphire crystal, polished steel indices and hands adorn the intricate dial. The Ingenieur 44 IW323401 is powered by the caliber 80111 – a masterfully-finished, 28-jewel self-winding movement that the transparent caseback proudly displays. Our offering is in superb condition – just polished per OEM specs and comes in a full set of boxes and papers. It is fitted with a brand new OEM Textile strap and in the set also has the original leather one – worn with only some life left in it. Ticking per specs.

The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.

All our watches undergo a thorough inspection and are sold in fully-authentic condition. Naturally, this includes all external and internal components. They are also serviced where needed and tested for waterproofness where it applies.

Vintage watches are checked against our database of original examples to ensure no components have been replaced or tampered with over the years, and they are serviced using strictly OEM parts. It’s no secret that most vintage watches sold online are re-dialed, overpolished, or feature movement parts with questionable origins, and those are all practices we sincerely abhor.

You can rest assured that any exceptions to the above will be disclosed in the respective timepiece’s descriptive text.

ChronoTimepieces’s service including, without limitation, our website, all information, content and any features made available to you through our Site are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Our directors, employees, agents, partners and content providers do not warrant that the service will be secure or available at any particular time or location.
Unless agreed otherwise in an individual case, ChronoTimepieces does not give any guarantees as to the characteristics of the goods which go beyond the statutory warranty rights or any other warranties.

  • All our watches come with a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase. The cover of said warranty is limited to the function, continuous operation and fair timekeeping and it does not cover misuse, neglect, abuse, water damage or any other form of wearer-inflicted damage.
  • Some used watches might still be covered by leftover Manufacturer warranty valid to any AD (Authorized Dealer) – please check the specific description of the watch you are buying.
  • Some new watches might be covered by Manufacturer warranty, usually activated upon purchase and valid to any AD (Authorized Dealer) – please check the specific description of the watch you are buying.
  • For vintage watches (we consider any watch older than 20 years vintage) time keeping is guaranteed within reasonable limits – ±20 sec/day, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the item’s description.
