Named after the renowned Portuguese explorer, the Magellan Northern Hemisphere represents a rediscovery of horology. To put it plainly – it’s the best way to get a globe around one’s wrist.
The map printed on the half-globe – i.e. the dial – is done in a retro style that alludes to vintage maps decorated with mythical creatures, whereas the curved hands and minute track are reminiscent of the navigational tools used by old-timey explorers. An orb-style hand indicates 24-hour time by pinpointing the position of the sun, a thin red-tipped hand marks the passing of seconds, and black batons with streaks of SuperLuminova count through the hours. Little balls of luminant placed around the chapter ring on each hour index further assist enchances legibility, backdropped by a beautiful Mother of Pearl texture. Within the smooth domed UFO case, a modified version of the Swiss ETA 2893-2 is ticking away, tethered to the curved hands via a set of hollow axes.
Our offering is in superb condition and comes outfitted with its OEM leather strap. Regrettably, none of the original boxes or papers are included. Ticking per specs.
Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year.
