Created to be worn during Polo matches, the Reverso is a wholly unique timepiece both in terms of aesthetics and in terms of functionality. Flipping its case over was once intended as a way to protect the dial during play, but it is rarely (if ever) used for that purpose nowadays. Nevertheless, watch enthusiasts have not fallen out of love with it. Quite the contrary – the Reverso is more beloved today than it has ever been!
The particular model on offer here – the Ladies’ Duetto – represents a more graceful and delicate interpretation of the timeless classic. Ideally suited for the slender female wrist, the watch features, on its front face, а charmingly patina’d silvered guilloché dial, and an Art Deco mother-of-pearl dial on its back. The latter also features a wispy guilloché pattern, and it too showcases a warm buttery patina. And while the front face is somewhat restrained and understated, the back goes all out, incorporating 30 flawless 0.30-carat diamonds above and under the dial.
Women aren’t usually especially keen on wristwatches, this much is true, but with its smooth lines and jeweled finishes, this one is sure to strike a chord with even the most skeptical of señoritas.
