Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic Universal Time ref. 8108120 – Bracelet, Dead Beat Seconds, World Time

The watch is one of the most intriguing timepieces by JLC – the Geophysic Universal Time ref. 8108120. It is a true world timer, featuring a map of the world with matte silvered/grey continents on the blue lacquered center dial with an outer ring with 24 city names printed in blue & red and 24 hour time zone ring with silver segment for day-time & blue segment for night-time. Sure enough from a maker like JLC the world time complication wasn’t enough so here comes the dead beat seconds (or True Second as JLC brands it) – Rather than a smooth running seconds hand, the hand on this watch ticks second by second, allowing the wearer to measure time more precisely. The ticking seconds hand is powered by a separate dedicated hairspring positioned near the center of the movement. Separating the hairsprings enable the movement to maintain its amplitude despite the significant additional energy required to power the jump of the seconds hand. The whole watch is very sturdy, made entirely in stain stainless steel – here it comes on the original bracelet as well. Our offering is in very good condition with minimal wear that is barely visible to the naked eye. Comes with box and papers.

Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
