Named after the event that gave birth to the very Universe itself, Hublot’s Big Bang collection is a treasure trove of stellar timepieces. The model on offer here, as you can see, is hardly an exception.
The Black Magic Chronograph is a surprisingly sleek watch, given the generous proportions of its PVD-coated titanium case. This sleekness it owes, at least partly, to its high-contrast white-on-black colorway, as well as to the angular geometry that has become so synonymous with Hublot’s design language. What’s more, the model incorporates two of the most cutting-edge materials used in modern watchmaking – ceramic for the bezel and titanium for the case – blending them in a spectacular fashion. The weaved carbon-fiber dial ties everything together nicely and provides an excellent backdrop for the Superluminova-coated applied indices and semi-skeletonized sword hands.
Inside, proudly displayed by the caseback, the cal. HUB 4100 Chronograph is gently ticking away. As movement finishes go, this one is a little utilitarian but very satisfying to look at nonetheless.
