Graham is a Swiss-based manufacturer that celebrates British culture and the history of British watchmaking. The company is named after George Graham, the master clockmaker born in 1673, who famously lived and worked on London’s Fleet Street. As it’s pretty easy to tell by looking at their timepieces, Graham targets the free spirits who have no love for conventions and norms, and its designs stand in firm affirmation of its philosophy. Take the watch on offer here, for example.
The Chronofighter Oversize Target Chrono is a striking timepiece, to say the least. Not only does it measure in at an impressive 47 mm in diameter, but it also incorporates one of the brand’s defining visual staples, which makes it all the more difficult to ignore – a lever-pusher that starts, stops, and resets the chronograph feature. The latter is located on the case’s left side not because this is a right-handed watch but so as not to get in the way of wearability. And despite its size (and thanks to its shortened lugs), the Target Chrono is a very wearable timepiece indeed – one that fits wrists of most sizes well. The dial is straight-up hypnotic, proudly displaying the watch’s inner workings and integrating a legible 3D font, which perfectly ties into the overall military aesthetic. In case you haven’t figured it out already, the “Target” part of the name has to do with the seconds subdial’s ornamentation.
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the Graham cal. G1747 is ticking confidently.
