Franck Muller might be one of the younger brands in the world of Haute Horlogerie, but it has already earned itself a fair bit of clout.
When watchmaker Franck Muller and case maker Vartan Sirmakes started their company in 1991, the two men agreed it would specialize in watches that render historical complications in modern and spectacular ways, and they have done precisely so. Judging by the exciting designs that they have been coming up with, the aesthetic side of their work is no less important to the duo.
The watch on offer here – the appropriately named Vanguard – makes some of the best use of the brand’s so-dubbed Curvex architecture to date. To contrast its smooth curvature, the so-dubbed Iron Pixel employs a striking geometric pattern that covers both case and dial, lending the watch its unique look as well as its idiosyncratic nickname.
The 3D white numerals separated from the remarkable backdrop by black borders serve as the centerpiece of the design, beautifully distilling its geometric spirit.
Sir Sirmakes (sorry, couldn’t resist) has decided to go with the brand-typical brushed caseback instead of a transparent one, and it does seem like the right choice. Protected by it, the cal. FM 2800 ticks delicately away.
Our offering is in mint condition, comes in a full set of boxes and papers, and is outfitted with its OEM strap, which mirrors the pixelated finishing of the case and dial.
Covered by a limited warranty of 1 year, starting on the date of purchase.
