Fortis Flieger Day-Date Chronograph ref. 597.10.141 – Full set, Serviced

In 1912, the visionary Walter Vogt laid the foundation for Fortis, a watchmaking legacy that would ultimately flourish when he joined forces with John Hardwood to establish production. The year 1926 marked a significant milestone with the introduction of the Hardwood Automatic, a groundbreaking achievement as the world’s first self-winding wristwatch. Subsequent years would prove equally momentous for Fortis.
By 1943, the brand had introduced some of the first-ежер waterproof wristwatches, showcased within the Fortissimo collection. Fortis had also engineered its own chronograph movement, featured in timepieces like the Rolls and the Autorist. The year 1962 brought forth The Spacematic, marking the advent of robust and reliable professional watches and securing the brand’s enduring legacy. Today, Fortis timepieces are trusted by Russian and American Cosmonauts, as well as numerous military squadrons worldwide.

The Flieger Day-Date Chronograph serves as a continuation of Fortis’ esteemed avionic heritage and a tribute to its pioneering history. Its design embodies a classic simplicity, reminiscent of a purer era of watchmaking, and its execution is nothing short of impeccable. A subtle departure from tradition can be found in its sand-blasted case, imbuing it with a sleek, modern, and tactical sensibility. The aluring black dial serves as a splendid canvas for the stencil-style luminescent numerals, adding to its charm. The dial is also where the day-date complication is to be found, nestled comfortably between the logo and model script at 3 o’clock.
Powering the Flieger Day-Date Chronograph is the prolific Valjoux caliber 7750.
This offering is in very good condition and includes its original bracelet and boxes.
