The Mille Miglia gets its name from the famous Italian road race that began in 1927, and it is undoubtedly one of Chopard’s most historical watches. The brand has served as Official Timekeeper of the Mille Miglia Storica since 1988, so it’s quite fitting that its flagship should pay homage to the classic car race. What’s more, Chopard president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele has raced in every edition of the event since 1988, which testifies to the authentic passion that drives the brand.

The Chopard Mille Miglia 43 GTS Speed Black comes outfitted with a large, DLC-coated case, whose uncluttered design is highlighted by its non-reflective finish. The dial is simple and highly legible, and its matt black color provides the perfect backdrop for the red central-seconds hand. Its symmetry is tastefully disrupted by a date display at 3 o’clock, which is stylized after the Mille Miglia event logo. Around the dial, a thin bezel marks the minutes and seconds in increments of five. The emblematic rubber strap it rocks evokes the pattern of 1960’s Dunlop tires and ties the watch together beautifully. The Mille Miglia 43 GTS Speed Black is powered by the in-house Chopard cal. 01.01-M.
