Cartier Santos 100 XL Chronograph Gold & Steel ref. 2740/W20091X7 – Polished & Serviced

Cartier – dubbed “King of Jewelers, Jeweler of Kings” – was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, who in 1899 handed the company down to his three sons. After they established it internationally, it didn’t take long for them to turn their attention to watchmaking, for which they had long harbored a passion. Today, many of the creations crafted under their stewardship are considered iconic. These include the Santos (1904) – one of the first wristwatches – the Tortue (1912) and the Tank (1919).
The watch on offer here – the Santos 100 XL – takes all that made its predecessor great and updates it for the new millennia. It makes Cartier’s origins more than apparent, proficiently balancing the bearing of a fine piece of jewelry with the horological excellence of a luxury watch. What’s more, it has a rather commanding wrist presence thanks to its 41.5 by 51 mm square case, which has doubtlessly contributed to its almost universal recognizability. As for its aesthetics, all the Cartier hallmarks are there – the distinct bezel – fashioned out of 18k Yellow Gold – the unmistakable Roman numerals, and the classic sword hands. Inside, behind the solid caseback, the Cartier caliber 8630 MC is ticking confidently.
Our offering was just polished and serviced per OEM specs, comes with its original box, and is outfitted with a new replacement brown strap.

The watch is covered by 1 year of limited warranty from ChronoTimepieces.
