Cartier Ronde Solo de Cartier 2934 Box

Cartier – dubbed “King of Jewelers, Jeweler of Kings” – was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, who in 1899 handed the company down to his three sons. After they had established it internationally, they turned their attention to watchmaking, for which they had long harbored a passion. Today, many of the creations crafted under the brotherly trio’s stewardship are considered iconic. These include the Santos (1904) – one of the first wristwatches – the Tortue (1912), and the Tank (1919).

Encased in a rather generous 42 mm case, Cartier Ronde Solo de Cartier 2934 exudes a true-to-size presence while maintaining a remarkably flat profile on the wrist, measuring just 8.55 mm in thickness. The inclusion of a slightly domed sapphire crystal gives the impression of a slightly thicker appearance. Although not an ultra-slim watch, the absence of a bezel contributes to the visual perception of thinnes. Of course, the crown is embellished with a blue synthetic cabochon-shaped spinel, preserving one of the signature elements that has solidified Cartier as one of the most iconic watch brands.

Outfitted with a silvered opaline dial adorned with bold black Arabic numerals, thе Ronde Solo offers a very eye-catching contrast. Gracing the dial are a set of blued-steel sword hands, along with a central chemin de fer minute track featuring a military time scale for the hours. The subtle yet easily readable date aperture at 3 o’clock is facilitated by a silver-colored date disk that seamlessly integrates with the overall dial aesthetics.

The bracelet showcases H-shaped links with a mirror-polished finish and center links covered in a satin brush, evoking the style of the vintage Pasha de Cartier. Robust and durable, the bracelet is equipped with a discreet double-folding clasp that ensures a seamless and elegant appearance when the wrist is turned.

The Ronde Solo de Cartier is powered by the automatic in-house caliber 1847 MC. With 23 jewels, this movement delivers a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph.
