Cartier – dubbed “King of Jewelers, Jeweler of Kings” – was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, who in 1899 handed the company down to his three sons. After they had established it internationally, it didn’t take long for them to turn their attention to watchmaking, for which they had long harbored a passion. Today, many of the creations crafted under their stewardship are considered iconic. These include the Santos (1904) – one of the first wristwatches – the Tortue (1912) and the Tank (1919).
The watch on offer here – the Roadster XL – represents Cartier’s take on the chronograph concept. It features a delicately finished tonneau-shaped steel case that follows the wrist’s natural curvature, which frames a refined, white-on-black dial surrounded by black PVD coated steel. The dial is adorned with stylized Roman numerals, a striking circular motif along its outer edge, а stealthy date display, and a set of black ellipse subdials and luminous sword hands. Despite its elegant demeanor, however, the watch gives off a decidedly masculine vibe, thanks to both its size and its geometry.
Inside, behind the brushed caseback, the brilliant Cartier cal. 8630 MC is ticking tranquility away.
Our offering is in excellent condition, comes with its original box, but unfortunately no papers and is outfitted with its ОЕМ rubber strap.
