Breguet Marine Royale 45 Alarm 18k Rose Gold ref. 5847BR/Z2/5ZV – Full set, 2019, Superb condition

The history of Breguet spans four centuries and is so rich in inventions and innovations that it represents a substantial part of the complete history of Swiss watchmaking as a whole. Thanks to watches such as the one on offer here, it’s quite easy to see why the brand is considered one of the best manufacturers in Haute horology.
The Breguet Marine Royale Alarm is equipped with a polished 45 mm case fashioned out of 18k Rose Gold and topped by a satin-finished bezel with mirror-polished bevels at irregular intervals, notched minute markings, and a bold luminous 12 o’clock marker. The dial comes in a dark-rhodium grey and is also made of solid 18k gold, but its finishing contrasts the bright case, and its guilloché wave pattern serves as the aesthetics centerpiece of the overall design. It is adorned with applied Rose Gold Roman numeral indices and polished Breguet-style hands and features a luminous dot minute chapter with diamond-shaped markers at 5-minute intervals. The rubber-rimmed crown at 4 o’clock controls the 12-hour alarm, which is indicated by the blue LumiNova-tipped hand, and the ridged button at 8 o’clock toggles the alarm on and off. Blue is the color that marks an association with the alarm complication, so the power reserve for the alarm on the top left of the dial also comes in a pleasing light blue, as does the inner alarm chapter ring.
The Marine Royale Alarm is powered by the Breguet caliber 519R, which contains 36 jewels and has an approximate power reserve of 45 hours.
