The Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Magnate GMT comes equipped with a sturdy-yet-stylish 40 mm stainless steel case that provides a shock resistance of 7,500Gs (or about 834 times what the human body can endure) and a water resistance of 10 ATM. It also gives the watch an impressive magnetic resistance of 4,800A/m, ensuring its accuracy around the electromagnetic fields associated with powerful currents. The handsome textured dial features 28 microtubes filled with tritium gas, which light up both the hour markers and hands and provide perfect legibility in the darkest of environments. It’s worth mentioning that this technology is employed by very few modern manufacturers and is therefore considered something of a brand trademark. The GMT bezel, meanwhile, sports Luminova-printed numerals, whose luminescence compares to that of the dial surprisingly well. The distinct crown guard is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional, and it ties the utilitarian overall design together perfectly.
