A worthy successor to the legacy of its older Royal Oak brother, the Offshore Chronograph is an experience that is hard to put into words – and that’s a good thing. Much like its predecessor, the model represents a deep yearning for the future, but it nevertheless looks to the past, to the rich history it is part of, with the highest respect.
The iteration on offer sports a 44 mm steel case with a bezel, pushers, and crown sheathed in extra-hard black ceramic. The silvery Mega Tappesserie dial serves as the backdrop for a set of white gold hands and indices, whose bright luster outshines the beveled edges of the case and contrasts the ceramic and black elements. Unsurprisingly, both the finishing and the construction of this piece are flawless, and its aesthetics make it impossible to mistake for another. Proudly showcased by a sapphire display caseback, the in-house caliber 3126/3840 is ticking accurately away.
