A worthy successor to the legacy of its older Royal Oak brother, the Offshore Chronograph is an experience that is hard to put into words – and that’s a good thing. Much like its predecessor, the model represents a deep yearning for the future, but it nevertheless looks to the past, to the rich history it is part of, with the highest respect.
The ref. ref. 26405CE.OO.A002CA.01 on offer here measures 44 mm in diameter, is (mostly) fashioned out of black ceramic, and incorporates all of the model’s historic hallmarks, such as the Mega Tappiserie dial, the tapering integrated rubber strap, and the octagonal bezel. Behind the glareproofed sapphire crystal, an anthracite dial continues the ubiquitous dark theme, framed by a grey tachymetric inner bezel and adorned with white-gold luminescent indices and hands, as well as bright-red flourishes. Like the crown and push-piece guard, the display caseback is made from titanium. Proudly ticking behind it is none other than the venerated in-house calibre 3126/3840.
