A worthy successor to the legacy of its older Royal Oak brother, the Offshore Chronograph is an experience that is hard to put into words – and that’s a good thing. Much like its predecessor, the model represents a deep yearning for the future, but it nevertheless looks to the past, to the rich history it is part of, with the highest respect.
The reference on offer here incorporates most of the model’s historic hallmarks, such as the Mega Tappiserie dial, the tapering integrated strap, and the octagonal bezel, but its rubber-clad pushers and bezel might not be to everyone’s liking. That’s okay, though – the Royal Oak has always been about shifting boundaries. Behind the silvered chrono subdials and inside the hairline-finished 42 mm case, the AP caliber 2226/2840 is ticking accurately.
