IWC Schaffhausen

The International Watch Co. (IWC) Schaffhausen was founded in 1868 by an American watchmaker named Florentine Ariosto Jones in the Swiss town of Schaffhausen. Jones wanted to combine American watchmaking technology with Swiss craftsmanship to create high-quality watches for the American market. In 1875, the company moved to a new factory in Schaffhausen, where it remains to this day.
Over the years, IWC has gained a reputation for producing innovative and high-quality timepieces. The company has introduced numerous technical innovations, including the first wristwatch with a digital display and the first watch with a titanium case. Today, IWC is known for its luxury watch collections, including the Portugieser, the Pilot’s Mark ** and the Ingenieur.
