Ikepod
The Ikepod watch company was founded in 1994 by designer Marc Newson and business partner Emmanuel Gueit. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its distinctive, futuristic designs and innovative use of materials, such as transparent sapphire crystal and high-tech plastics. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Ikepod gained a cult following among watch enthusiasts and collectors, and its timepieces were highly sought after. However, the company faced financial difficulties in the mid-2000s and was eventually forced to declare bankruptcy. In 2011, Newson acquired the rights to the Ikepod brand and relaunched the company, continuing to produce limited edition watches with the same bold, experimental design aesthetic.
