A worthy successor to the legacy of its older Royal Oak brother, the Offshore Chronograph is an experience that is hard to put into words – and that’s a good thing. Much like its predecessor, the model represents an intense yearning for the future, but it nevertheless looks to the past, to the rich history it is part of, with the highest respect.

The ref. 25721TI.O.1000TI.01 on offer here presents us with quite an atypical color palette, which has important implications when it comes to the overall design of the watch. More specifically, the subdial’s blue-on-black design changes the geometry of the whole watch face, contrasting the cubic geometry of the Titanium case even more strongly. The latter’s satin finish gives the watch a four-dimensional presence, which its beveled edges expertly soften. Complementing the blue detailing along the dial’s outer edge and subdial tracks, the chronograph pushers and crown come clad in blue ceramic.
The remarkable Grande Tapisserie dial is encircled by the iconic octagonal bezel, echoing its geometrical design language and proudly showcasing AP’s unwavering devotion to expert craftsmanship. Whereas the brushed bezel captures and directs the light, the white-gold indices and hands reflect it back at the wearer, producing an eye-catching (pun intended) contrast and enhancing legibility.
Inside, safely tucked away behind the solid caseback, the brilliant caliber 2226/2840 is ticking confidently away.
