Vintage Omega Chronostop Chronograph ref. 145.009 – 1965, Branded crown & buckle, cal. 865, Serviced

In its long and diverse history, Omega has produced some of the most iconic and unique pieces in the world of watchmaking. Today, the brand is mostly known for its benchmark models like the Seamaster and the Speedmaster and their numerous limited edition versions, but Omega used to have a much more varied lineup back in the day. The Omega Chronostop was produced in the late 60s, circa 1965, in a run of about 124,000 pieces. It has a very quirky and unique design, which brilliantly foreshadows the aesthetic revolution that the coming 70’s would bring. The Chronostop has a sort of proto-chronograph – more accurately referred to as a minute register – courtesy of the manual-wound caliber 865, whose stop-second function allows for the recording of times up to one minute only. The stainless steel case retains its original brushed finish and has a faintly elliptical silhouette, which sits very naturally on the wrist. The dark gray dial has aged rather gracefully and so have the hands and hour markers, giving the watch that longed-for vintage look. Having been serviced by a our in-house watchmaker in 07.2020, the watch is working splendidly. Our offering is in very good, unadulterated condition and comes on a black leather strap with an original Omega buckle.

Covered by a limited warranty of 6 months, starting on the date of purchase.
