With all the noise around Omega’s sports watches, it’s easy to forget that divers and chronographs aren’t what made the brand famous. As a matter of fact, the universally-celebrated Seamaster started life as a decidedly dressier timepiece, and so did its more luxurious variation – the Seamaster De Ville. Due to the transformation of the Seamaster, however, Omega decided to assign the De Ville name to a more sophisticated and elegant collection of timepieces, so the De Ville Prestige line came to embody all the qualities that the Seamaster no longer could.
The De Ville Prestige Co-Axial Chronometer 424.10.37.20.04.001 features a stunning white dial with a minute track around its outer edge. Applied Roman numeral indices can be seen at the 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 o’clock positions, and polished cabochons adorn the spaces between them. The striking dial has a date display at 3 o’clock and is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Because of its simple lines and sleek silhouette, the stainless steel case evokes the spirit of vintage Seamaster models.
